Mountain Hawks sunk by Bison

Lewisburg, PA – In its next to last meet of the season, the Lehigh swimming & diving teams were defeated by Bucknell. The women fell 215-85, while the men were up ended in a tightly contested meet, 157-143. The loss drops the women to 5-6 overall, 2-3 in the Patriot League. The set back by the men drops their record to 6-4 overall, 2-2 in the league. The women managed first place finishes in only one event. Senior Laura Gabrynowicz notched the first place result in the women’s 200-yard butterfly. Gabrynowicz topped a trio of Bison with a time of 2:09.55. The loss is the second consecutive set back for the Mountain Hawks, as the squad hopes to pull their record back to .500 in the final regular season meet next weekend at Marist. On the men’s side, the meet came down to the wire. The duo of Bing Padmasankha and Dan Buschman took first and second place in the 200-yard freestyle with times of 1:45.42 and 1:45.73 respectively. Ian Gillen managed a top result in the 100-yard breastroke with a time of :52.60, Jake Fletcher was first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of :21.50. Padmasankah picked up his second first place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of :47.29, while William Green was tops in the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard IM, posting a times of :51.41 and 1:58.97 respectively.
