Lehigh looks to clinch PL title against Colgate

Bethlehem, PA – The Mountain Hawks are just a few games away from clinching their sixth straight Patriot League regular season title. Standing in their way this weekend is the Colgate Raiders, coming to town with Patriot League title hopes of their own. Lehigh currently has a magic number of three, needing any combination of Lehigh wins or Army losses adding up to three over the weekend. Colgate’s road is tougher, as they need to sweep the Mountain Hawks and have Army lose a couple as well.
The big matchup between these two teams this weekend will be Lehigh’s pitching versus Colgate’s hitting. Lehigh’s staff leads the Patriot League with a 1.38 ERA, while Colgate as a team is batting .328 in Patriot League games. Dorothy Donaldson and the Rawson twins, Natalie and Nichole, will test Lehigh’s ace trio of Emily Ling, Heather Hamasaki, and Kate Arico. Arico was brilliant last weekend, winning three of the four games at Holy Cross. Ling and Hamasaki are 1-2 in the Patriot League in strikeouts. Donaldson leads the Patriot League in home runs with 12, and Natalie Rawson leads in RBIs with 44. Donaldson and Shana Treon lead the league in hitting in league games, with each hammering the ball at a .500 clip. Saturday’s doubleheader is set to begin at
