Lehigh set to take the field at GW

Head coach Fran Troyan says the team is anxious to start the new season. “Hopefully we can get these games in,” he said. “We need to be able to play outside to see what we have to work on. We can compete with anyone in the gym, but obviously we don’t play in a gym. We are eager to see how we do against live competition.”
Lehigh set a school and Patriot League record last year with 39 wins, including a nearly perfect 19-1 mark in league play. And while Patriot League pollsters agree the Mountain Hawks will be successful, they have been picked to finish 2nd in the preseason poll.
Both Lehigh and Colgate received 5 first place votes, but Colgate got 45 points overall to Lehigh’s 43 to take first. Army was chosen to finish third and had two first place votes. Holy Cross, Bucknell, and Lafayette rounded out the preseason predictions.
