Lehigh splits with Princeton

Bethlehem, PA – The Mountain Hawks returned to action Wednesday in non-league competition vs. Princeton and split with the Tigers, falling 8-0 in game one, before bouncing back to win 5-4 in ten innings in game two. With the split Lehigh moves to 26-7, while the Tigers move to 15-11-1. Jenny Bender took the loss for the Mountain Hawks in the opener to fall to 8-4 on the season. The Mountain Hawks managed only two hits in game one, both singles from Stephanie Digneo and Kelly Kliewer. Princeton starter Erin Snyder went the distance for her eighth win of the year. Four Tigers had two hits each, including Wendy Bingham, Cristina Cobb-Adams, and Nichole Davida. Cobb-Adams managed a double and a triple, while driving in four runs. Scoring (Game 1)

The Tigers took a 3-2 lead into the top half of the fifth inning and led by the same score until the Mountain Hawks tied the game at 3-3 in the sixth. The game remained tied until the top half of the tenth inning, when Mary Wieder was placed on second and scored along with Erin Hengemuhle on a Shana Treon single. Kelly Kliewer went 3-for-5 in the game with an RBI, while Treon and Jessica Young each managed two hits. Treon finished the game with three RBI, while Wieder added the other RBI for the Brown and White. Kate Arico picked up the win, pitching a solid five innings to improve to 2-1 on the season. Arico allowed just three hits, while striking out one. Kristin Lueke and Cristina Cobb-Adams each tallied two hits for the Tigers, while Wendy Bingham took the loss.
