Lehigh arrives in the Sunshine State

All due respect to one, Mr. Mitch Martin, we’re not in Denver, but the Mountain Hawks arrived in Florida shortly after 9:15 p.m. Wednesday and arrived at their final destination at the hotel in Gainesville just after 11:30, in preparation for the NCAA Gainesville Regional which begins Friday.
Travel day began with an afternoon practice at Kaufman Field before the team loaded up a pair of buses for the hour-long ride to the Philadelphia airport. The team enjoyed some post-practice pizza on the bus ride down and arrived at the airport shortly after 5 p.m.
Once everyone had checked in, it was off to the gate where players passed the time with a snack, a book, a magazine or a friendly card game. The way Lehigh’s schedule has worked out the last few years, this is the Mountain Hawks’ first non-spring break related plane trip since the 2007 NFCA Leadoff Classic.
