BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh senior Alfredo Fernandez-Concha has been named to the All-Patriot League first team, it was announced on Tuesday. Fernandez-Concha recently completed a stellar senior campaign, where the former walk-on became the Mountain Hawks’ number one singles and doubles player. The all-league honor is the first of his career.

After playing predominantly third and fourth singles in his first three years, Fernandez-Concha ascended into the number one spot when fellow senior and co-captain Ryan Lloyd was lost for the season with an injury. Fernandez-Concha responded by going 7-7 at first singles in the spring, including an impressive 4-1 mark in singles matches against league opponents. Including fall matches, Fernandez-Concha was 12-12, giving him 62 career singles victories in his four years in the Brown and White. Those 62 wins are the most by a Lehigh player under head coach Dave Shook.

A native of Quoque, N.Y., Fernandez-Concha also played first doubles for a good portion of the year, playing with junior John Nespoli earlier in the year, before finishing the season being paired with senior Brad Nelson.

League champion Navy swept the major awards, with Nate Nelms earning Player of the Year honors, Ramsey Lemaich winning Rookie of the Year, and John Officer being named Coach of the Year.
