BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The final week of the Patriot League regular season is upon us as Lehigh travels to Lewisburg on Wednesday night for a matchup with the Bucknell Bison at Sojka Pavilion. The bottom six teams in the league standings still remain alive to host a home game in next week’s Patriot League Tournament and a win on Wednesday would go a long way in securing that home contest for the Mountain Hawks. Lehigh fell to archrival Lafayette 68-66 on Sunday at home despite placing four players in double figures, led by Zahir Carrington’s 15 tallies. Bucknell fell at home on Saturday to Delaware by a score of 81-68 in a BracketBuster game. Patrick Behan notched his third straight game of 20 or more points in the game.
Zahir Carrington has registered double figure marks in either points or rebounds in each of his last 16 games. During that time the Philadelphia native has notched seven double-doubles. Carrington has failed to reach the double figure plateau in either points or rebounds in just two games this entire season (Albany, Monmouth).
Since missing the American game on February 7, Dave Buchberger has made his presence felt in the Lehigh lineup. During the last four games, Buchberger is averaging 10.8 points and 5.3 rebounds, while leading the Mountain Hawks in free throw shooting at 86.7-percent. He has averaged 33.5 minutes per game in those four games, second only to Marquis Hall’s 38.0 minutes.
Wednesday’s game tips off at 7:00 from Sojka Pavilion in Lewisburg. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN Radio 1230 and 1320 AM as well as Lehighsports.com with Matt Kerr calling the action. Pre-game coverage gets underway at 6:30.
