No. 16 Lehigh Readies For NCAA First Four Vs. No. 16 Prairie View A&M

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – No. 16 Lehigh men's basketball returns to the big dance on Wednesday evening at 6:40 p.m. from UD Arena in Dayton, Ohio to take on No. 16 Prairie View A&M in the NCAA Tournament First Four.
Wednesday's game will be the first-ever meeting between Lehigh (18-16, 11-7 Patriot League) and Prairie View A&M (18-17, 9-9 SWAC). The Mountain Hawks are making their sixth overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament and third under Murray H. Goodman '48 head coach Brett Reed.
In front of a packed Stabler Arena crowd of 4,323, Lehigh brought home the 2026 Patriot League Championship in a 74-60 win over the Boston University Terriers on Wednesday evening. Nasir Whitlock paced the Mountain Hawks offensively, scoring 18 points to go along with four assists, three rebounds, and a steal. Whitlock was named Tournament MVP. Joshua Ingram finished the night with 15 points, six rebounds, three triples, and two blocks. Edouard Benoit provided 15 points on 5-10 shooting with seven rebounds and a steal. Hank Alvey posted a near double-double of 14 points and nine rebounds to go along with five rebounds, two blocks, and a steal. Both Ingram and Alvey were named to the Patriot League All-Tournament team.
The Panthers enter Wednesday's First Four game winners of their last seven games, including a 72-66 victory over Southern in the SWAC championship on Saturday. Prairie View A&M was the eighth seed in their conference tournament. The Panthers are led by first team All-SWAC selection Dontae Horne who averages 20.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. Second team All-SWAC selection Tai'Reon Joseph averages 18.2 points per game while Cory Wells (13.1 ppg) and Lance Williams (10.1 ppg) also average double-figures for the Panthers.
Should Lehigh win, the Mountain Hawks will face No. 1 Florida on Friday, March 20 at 9:25 p.m. in Tampa, Florida.
