Ross sets school record in 33-point victory

With the win, the Mountain Hawks improve to 8-3 overall and 4-0 at Stabler Arena while the Bearcats fall to 4-7 on the year.
“I think it was nice to be back at home,” Lehigh head coach Sue Troyan said. “We talk a lot about protecting our home court and we take a lot of pride in that. We’re also just really comfortable here and I think that was a big reason for the good shooting.”
Three Lehigh players scored in double figures as Ross led the way with 29 points. Erica Prosser and Kristen Dalton each chipped in 12 points in the win, and 11 players put points on the board as Lehigh ran away with the lead down the stretch.
“Both point guards were looking for her in transition and it seemed like it was out of her hands as soon as she got the ball,” Troyan said. “It was just one of those days where she was in the zone.”
Prosser and Claire Sullivan kept spreading the ball around to Ross and the rest of the Lehigh shooters, as they accounted for 15 of the team’s 21 assists. Sullivan paced the team with her 10 dimes, a season high for the senior guard. By the end of the game, the Brown and White only scored seven unassisted baskets as the ball movement was essential in the win.
“My teammates did a great job finding me today,” Ross said. “My coaches just told me to keep shooting and that’s what I did.”
Alexa Williams was a force on the glass for the Mountain Hawks as she led the way with nine rebounds, trailed closely by Haly Crites with eight boards. Lehigh controlled the glass all afternoon by outrebounding the Bearcats 43-32.

“It was definitely a pretty complete game today,” Troyan said. “I thought in terms of defensive effort and offensive execution we did a good job. There were some great individual performances today, but it was a great team effort more than anything.”
