TEANECK, N.J.- The Mountain Hawks won their third game of the season Sunday afternoon, beating Fairleigh Dickinson 1-0 in Teaneck, New Jersey.  The lone goal of the game came in the 41st minute off the foot of senior Joe Clemente and was assisted by Patrick Cucci.  The Brown and White improve their record to 3-1 on the season, while FDU falls to 2-4

In the first half the teams played evenly, as Lehigh recorded three shots, while FDU had two shots.  Lehigh was able to break the game open in the 41st minute when Cucci found Clemente on the right side of the net, to give the Mountain Hawks the lead.  It was the first goal of the season for Clemente, while Cucci also picked up his first point of the year.

The Knights almost tied the game three minutes later, as Dimitri Pelts had an open shot at the net, but Brian Lee was able to knock the ball down and keep the Mountain Hawks in the lead.

FDU made a charge early in the second half, recording four shots in the first 18 minutes of the half, but Lee was there once again to keep the Mountain Hawks in the lead.  In total, Lee made three saves to earn his second shutout of the season.

Lehigh’s defense was able to keep the Knights at bay for the rest of the half, as the Mountain Hawks were able to hold on for the victory.

Lehigh returns to action on Wednesday as they host the University of Maryland-Baltimore County at the Ulrich Sports Complex.  The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
