EASTON, Pa. – Lehigh traveled down the road to Easton to participate in its second race in as many days, at the Leopard Invitational.  Having used a majority of their runners yesterday at the Penn State Nationals, the Mountain Hawks were limited to just four runners on the men’s side and six on the women’s side.  Maryland swept the team titles, with the men’s team finishing with 63 points, while the women’s team had 68 points.

The Lehigh men did not have enough runners to qualify for team points, but it did have a strong showing from the four runners there.  Andrew Jervis was the top finisher for Lehigh, crossing the finish line in 27:31, good for 54th overall.  Bryan Herbst was second for the Mountain Hawks and took 59th overall with a time of 27:35.  Matt Hilderbrandt (28:21) and Stephen Abate (28:26) rounded the runners for Lehigh.

On the women’s side Hannah Baskin finished 50th and took the top spot for the Mountain Hawks, who finished in 11th place overall.  Baskin crossed the finish line in 22:45, 15 seconds ahead of Andrea Mascaro, who finished in 60th place.  Kimberley Scotto was nine seconds behind Mascaro and finished 64th overall.  Other Lehigh finishers were Jennifer Filberto (23:12), Jill Randolph (23:17) and Caitlin Kennedy (23:59).

The Brown and White will be back in action on October 27, when they return to Easton for the Patriot League Championships.  The race is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. from Metzgar Fields.
