LEWISBURG, Pa. – Lehigh was unable to score more than 20 points in either half on Wednesday night as the Mountain Hawks fell to Bucknell 64-37 at Sojka Pavilion.  The Mountain Hawks committed 23 turnovers and failed to hit a three-point field goal for the first time since January 2005. Sophomore Melissa Rich was the only Lehigh player to reach double figures in points, scoring a team-high 13.  Senior Adrienne Blount and Rich co-led the team in rebounds, each grabbing a game-high seven boards.

Bucknell’s Kesha Champion got the game underway with a jumper 17 seconds into the game, but Lehigh responded as freshman Alex Ross hit a jumper of her own right as the shot clock was about to expire.  The Bison would take a 4-2 lead off a basket by Amanda Brown at the 17:54 mark.  Rich and sophomore Haly Crites scored the game’s next three baskets to give Lehigh an 8-4 lead with 14:54 remaining.

Jacqui Seawright ended Bucknell’s scoring drought at 13:20 when she hit two straight jumpers in a span of 35 seconds to tie the game at eight.  Blount would give the Mountain Hawks a 10-8 lead at 11:19, but the Bison went on an 8-0 scoring run to give Bucknell a 19-12 advantage with 7:11 left in the half.

Lehigh’s scoring drought ended at the 6:22 mark when Rich had the Mountain Hawks’ first basket in nearly five minutes.  However, Bucknell would outscore the Mountain Hawks 13-4 in the remaining six minutes to enter halftime with a 32-18 advantage.  It was the second time this season Lehigh was held to less than 20 points in the opening half, with the first time being at N.C. State on December 22 when the Brown and White scored only 16 points in the first half.

Bucknell started the second half strong, getting jumpers from Hope Foster and Champion and a three-pointer by Seawright to lead 39-18 at the 17:11 mark.  The Mountain Hawks’ scored their first points of the half when Blount sank her jumper.  It was the first basket for Lehigh since sophomore Ryan Ingalls’ lay-up at 2:59 in the first half.

Rich and Blount combined for 13 of the Mountain Hawks' 19 second half points, scoring seven and six points, respectively.

Bucknell had three players in double-digits, with Brown scoring a game-high 20 points, including four treys.  Hope Foster and Seawright added 14 and 13 points, respectively.  Seawright also led the Bison in rebounds with seven.

Lehigh returns to action on Saturday when the Mountain Hawks face Holy Cross at the Hart Center in Worcester, Mass.  Tip is scheduled for 1:00 pm.  Live audio of the game will be broadcast in the Lehigh Valley on WLVR-FM (91.3) as well as worldwide online at lehighsports.com, with streaming provided by Yahoo!
