Lehigh completes four game sweep of Leopards

The Leopards would get on the board first in the opener as Jill Masterton led off the bottom of the first with a home run. The Mountain Hawks would come back though, scoring three runs in both the second and third innings. Sweeney helped her own cause with an RBI single in the second, then came around to score when Megan Conrad reached on an error. In the third, Lauren Haney drove in a run with a double and then Julie Sterrett followed up with a single two batters later.
Sweeney closed out Lehigh’s scoring in game one with a sacrifice fly, then proceeded to close out the Leopards in the pitching circle, throwing a complete game five-hitter, while striking out eight, to improve to 12-3 on the year.
In game two, Lehigh plated four runs in the top of the first and then exploded for ten in the third to build a large lead. Freshman Whitney Lowe delivered the big hit in the first inning, with a two-run double to put the Mountain Hawks up 4-0.

The 14 runs were more than enough for Kate Arico, who went all five innings allowing two runs on five hits to earn her fifth win of the season.
