Lehigh shuts out Villanova on Tuesday

“This is a good win for us,” said head coach Dave Shook. “They (Villanova) are a good team and I didn’t think we would shut them out, but to do so is very impressive for us. The guys played well today.”
The Mountain Hawks snatched the first point with wins at all three doubles flights. In singles play, Lehigh got straight set wins from Randall Smalley at first singles, Ryan Lloyd at second singles, Brad Nelson at third singles and John Nespoli at fifth singles. Junior Alfredo Fernandez-Concha and freshman Andrew Balshi both lost the first set in their matches, but rallied for three-set victories.
Lehigh will return to the court on Saturday, April 8 when the Mountain Hawks resume Patriot League play against Navy. The match gets underway at noon from
