BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh hosted the 2005 Patriot League Championships on Saturday morning on the Goodman Campus, and it was the Mountain Hawk women finishing third, and the Lehigh men coming in fourth place for the second consecutive season.  The third place finish by the Mountain Hawk women is their highest in the championships since finishing in a tie for third at the 2001 championships.  Junior Jen Schappert was Lehigh’s top finisher with a time of 20:54, as the Maryland native came in second place for the second consecutive season, while senior Rob Hampson came in 13th place to lead the Mountain Hawk men, crossing in a time of 25:01.

Senior Keira Carlstrom of American was the overall champion for the third consecutive season, finishing in a time of 20:19, and she was awarded by being named the Runner of the Meet, while Navy’s Justine Whipple finished in third place.  Army's Meghan Curran was named the Female Freshman of the Meet, and Bucknell's Kevin Donner received Coach of the Year honors.

In the men’s race, American was the overall champion for the fourth consecutive season, as the Eagles scored 22 points to take the crown.  Placing for Lehigh behind Hampson was junior Brendan Glover (14), junior Sean Swift (15), junior Victor Vientos (16), junior Steve Rosinski (27), freshman Daniel DeWitt (37) and senior Tyler Spencer (41).  Hampson was named All-League yet again during his stellar career at Lehigh, and joining him on the Second Team was Glover.
