Bethlehem, PA- Jeanette Singleton is on an absolute tear, and her outstanding play led Lehigh (12-8, 4-2) to their third straight victory Saturday night over Holy Cross (5-14, 2-4) by a score of 3-0.
The Mountain Hawks dominated the action from the get-go, taking the first two games 30-13, 30-14. Holy Cross proved tougher in the third game, keeping it close until the end before losing 30-22. Singleton had a double-double for the second straight match, posting 19 kills and 19 digs in only three games.
Head coach Patrick Nicholas was happy with the team's all-around effort. "We did a great job blocking in the middle, which we have been stressing lately, and played well in transition," said Nicholas. "Jeanette had a huge weekend, and is really on top of her game right now."
Although no one else registered double digits in kills, Katie Dukatz and Rebecca Gawronski had nine kills apiece and Michelle Schwendenmann had seven. Allison Jack averaged 14 assists per game, totaling 42 overall. Caitlin Agostinacchio paced the Crusaders with seven kills and six digs.
Lehigh has won three straight league matches and is now alone in third place in the Patriot League. Their next match is Wednesday night at Taylor Gym as non-league opponent Loyola comes calling. Game time is set for 7:00, and the match will be broadcast live on Lehigh's website at www.lehigh.edu.
