HISTORY
The picturesque Goodman Track and Field Complex is located on the south end of Goodman Campus. The complex is the primary home for the Lehigh men’s and women’s outdoor track and field program, and is a popular sight for community runners. Open to the public when not being utilized by the Lehigh programs or external events, the facility consists of a 1/4 mile track with a high jump area, long jump pit, a pole vault mat, throwing area and other standard event features. A scenic view of South Mountain makes this venue quite popular all year round.
The complex hosted its first meet (Lehigh Games) on April 15, 1995, after completing a project to install a new regulation rubberized track.
In October 2017, Lehigh formally dedicated the Carol & John Covert Pavilion, the first permanent structure to be built at the complex. Located at the south end of the track, it features large garage bay doors on both sides that lead to a storage area, as well as meeting space, restrooms, a press box and a covered outdoor pavilion. The building is named in honor of longtime Lehigh track and cross country head coach John Covert and his wife, Carol. Covert headed the Engineer programs from 1967-1992 and was inducted into the Penske/Lehigh Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005.
Other 2017 upgrades to the track included new fences and gates around the track, new flag poles and an awards ceremony area, as well as over a dozen light posts that allow athletes to utilize the track after daylight hours.
The facility previously had new track surfaces installed in 2001 and 2009.

Parking for events at the Goodman Track is available on Goodman Campus in the lots outside of Stabler Arena and Rauch Fieldhouse.
