Megan Goelz begins her first season on the Lehigh staff as a graduate assistant coach. A 2012 graduate of Villanova, Goelz was a three-year starting goalkeeper for the Wildcats. She played in all but 25 minutes as a senior, leading Villanova to the Big East Tournament where she was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Along with her strong senior campaign, Goelz posted a 2.26 GAA and 74.3 save percentage as a junior and 2.51 GAA and 73.5 save percentage as a sophomore. She made a career-high 17 saves against Providence in 2009 before tying that mark a year later vs. Syracuse.
Goelz will work extensively with Lehigh’s goalkeepers. She owns extensive field hockey experience, both playing and coaching. For three summers, she was the Goalie Unit Director, managing schedules and drills for up to 15 goalkeeper campers. Goelz was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) at Villanova where she co-organized fundraisers and community service opportunities.
A native of Yardley, Pa. outside of Philadelphia, Goelz earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a Specialization in Public Relations. She became a member of Lambda Eta Pi, a Communications Honor Society, promoting and encouraging professional development for communications majors while volunteering for Special Olympics and other charities.
