Why Lehigh?: “I chose Lehigh because I felt it had the best combination of academics and athletics.”

 

In 2007-08: Started every dual for Lehigh at 174… placed fourth at the EIWA Championships, earning an automatic bid to NCAAs… went 2-2 at the NCAA Championships, finishing one win shy of the Round of 12… finished second on the team in both wins and dual points… took eventual national champion Keith Gavin of Pittsburgh into overtime in first career varsity match… won first career dual match and secured first career fall at Journeymen Duals in November… went 4-0 to win the Amateur Division at the prestigious Kaufman-Brand Open.

 

In 2006-07: Deferred eligibility… posted 9-4 record wrestling unattached in open tournaments… went 5-2 en route to sixth place at East Stroudsburg Open

 

In secondary school: Capped off undefeated senior season with state championship at 160… finished with 140-11 career record… also placed second, fourth  and eighth in three previous state tournaments… placed third at 2006 NHSCA championships… reached state finals as a junior losing a close match to 2006 EIWA 157 lb. champion Andrew Flanagan… earned a 3.5 grade point average… ranked 52nd in the nation by InterMat.

 

Personal: Son of Claud and Louise Caruso… brother Anthony (22)… enjoys football, baseball, golf and the beach.
