Why Lehigh?: “I wanted the best school I could find in both wrestling and educational experience. I couldn’t do better going anywhere else.”

 

In 2003-04:  In his first year as a starter, Ciasulli posted an impressive 24-10 mark … won the Sheridan Award at EIWAs for the most pins in the least amount of time, pinning two opponents in a total of 4:01 … finished second at EIWAs to defending national champion Travis Lee of Cornell … qualified for NCAAs, going 2-2 in his first appearance

 

In 2002-03: Posted a 15-6 mark in his deferred year … defeated three EIWA placewinners, including win by fall over Cornell’s Alejandro Alvarez at the Wilkes Open … posted a 9-2 decision over Max Meltzer of Harvard in the ESU Open, and a 9-2 victory over Matt Eveleth of Pennsylvania at the Penn State Open.

 

In Secondary School: ranked first in the nation by InterMat Wrestling at 125 with a career record of 156-17 ... one of the top two recruits in all weights in Pennsylvania, winning state titles at 112, 119 and 125 ... one of two Lehigh three-time PA state champs (Olympic champion Bobby Weaver the other, with both from Easton H.S.) ... Outstanding Wrestling at the Reno Tournament, with a 15-5 decision over the USA Today high school wrestler of the year, Darrell Vasquez.

 

Personal: son of Mike and Ellen Ciasulli … brother Andy, 22, wrestles for Drexel; Seth, 17, has been ranked #1 in the national high school wrestler rankings at 103 and 112; sister, Sara, is 24.
