Lehigh Bested By Penn State 4-1

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Lehigh men's tennis faced off against Big Ten opponent Penn State on the road on Saturday afternoon. The Mountain Hawks took the opening doubles point but ultimately fell 4-1.
Penn State (11-4) struck first in doubles play, earning a 6-3 win at number three. Lehigh (5-4) struck back with a 6-4 win at number two doubles to even the score. Sean Jaeger and Alex Van Lumich then battled to a tiebreak at number one and came away victorious to steal the doubles point for the Mountain Hawks.
The Nittany Lions got on the board first in singles play thanks to a two-set win from Michael Wright over Jaeger at number one. A two-set victories from David Lindsay at number four and Marcus Schoeman at number three put Penn State within one win of the clinch. Eyal Shyovitz's two-set win at number five secured the dual meet victory for Penn State. Singles matches at numbers two and six were left unfinished.
The Mountain Hawks return home to host Mount St. Mary's at the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center on Sunday, March 8 at 11 a.m.
