No. 2 Lehigh Hosts No. 10 Holy Cross In Patriot League Quarterfinal

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – No. 2 Lehigh men's basketball welcomes No. 10 Holy Cross to Stabler Arena on Thursday for the Patriot League Championship quarterfinal round. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
Lehigh (15-16, 11-7 PL) trails Holy Cross (11-21, 5-13 PL) 46-34 in the all-time series, but the Mountain Hawks have won seven of the last ten meetings. The Mountain Hawks and Crusaders split the season series, with Holy Cross winning the most recent matchup 76-67 on February 7. The Crusaders hold a 7-0 record against the Mountain Hawks in postseason competition.
An NCAA-leading eighth 30+ point performance from junior captain Nasir Whitlock helped pave the way for Lehigh to defeat the Bucknell Bison 89-79 on Senior Day. In addition, the Mountain Hawks clinched the number two seed in the Patriot League tournament with Colgate's loss at Navy on Saturday evening. Whitlock finished the night with 32 points on 12-18 shooting with seven assists and three rebounds. Hank Alvey had a big game for the Mountain Hawks as well, tallying 22 points on 8-12 shooting with five rebounds, four assists, a block, and a steal. Joshua Ingram nearly secured a triple-double with 11 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, two blocks, and two steals.
After finishing in tenth place in the Patriot League standings, Holy Cross upset seventh-seeded Lafayette 82-77 on Tuesday in the Patriot League Championship first round. Gabe Warren led the Crusaders with 23 points and nine rebounds while Tyler Boston put up 17 points, 14 assists, and nine rebounds. Four Crusaders average double-figure points, those being Boston (13.8), Warren (12.5), Joe Nugent (11.8), and Aiden Disu (10.8).
Should Lehigh win, the Mountain Hawks would host a Patriot League Championship semifinal game against the winner of No. 3 Colgate vs. No. 6 Loyola on Sunday, March 8.
Thursday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and is available on Fox Sports Radio 94.7 FM and 1230 AM.
