Mountain Hawks Done In By Six-Run Fifth Saturday at Boston U.

Sophomore Kelly Fricker went 2-for-4 with her fourth home run of the season and scored all three runs, but her second base counterpart Brooke Deppiesse hit the grand slam that put the Terriers in front.
Boston University won its 18th straight game to improve to 25-10 overall and 4-0 in the Patriot League. Lehigh falls to 16-15 overall and 0-4 in league play.

Fricker reached on an error with two outs in the third inning and scored the game's first run on a triple to left center by junior Peyton Sward.

In the fourth, Fricker grabbed a hard line drive by Camryn Lyons and turned an inning-ending unassisted double play to keep the Mountain Hawks ahead 1-0. With two outs in the top of the fifth, Fricker drilled a Kasey Ricard offering out to right field for a home run to double the Lehigh lead.

Kieren McHugh's RBI double put BU on the board and two batters later Deppiesse came up with the bases loaded and hit the go-ahead grand slam. Kyomi Apalit added a RBI fielder's choice to cap the six-run inning.
Lehigh loaded the bases with two outs in the sixth but Ricard struck out pinch hitter Maia D'Amico to end the threat.
Fricker led off the seventh with a single to left center, chasing Ricard from the game. Haley Ganino came into the game for BU. Sophomore Lizzie Kern doubled home Fricker to make the score 6-3 but Lehigh could get no closer.
First-year Addison Moorman went four-plus innings in the circle, allowing five runs on four hits. She walked four, including two in the fifth inning. Junior Maddy Clark allowed a run over two hitless innings of relief.
Ricard struck out 10 and walked five over six-plus innings for Boston University.
Kern joined Fricker with two hits for Lehigh.
The Mountain Hawks and Terriers will close out their series with a doubleheader Sunday beginning at noon.
