2/3/2026 12:31:00 PM | Men's Basketball
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's basketball opens a two-game road swing on Wednesday evening, taking on the Loyola Maryland Greyhounds at 7 p.m. at Reitz Arena.
Lehigh (10-13, 6-4 PL) and Loyola (8-15, 4-6 PL) are tied 18-18 in the all-time series between the two schools. The Mountain Hawks defeated the Greyhounds 88-81 at home on January 19 on CBS Sports Network. However, Loyola beat Lehigh three times last season, including a 77-73 triumph in the Patriot League Championship First Round.
If Lehigh wins, head coach Brett Reed would win his 298th game, putting him only two away from becoming the second coach in Patriot League history to reach 300 wins. In addition, Reed's record vs. Loyola would improve to 14-14.
Junior captain Nasir Whitlock scored his 32nd point of the game on a game-winning jumper with 1.6 seconds remaining to defeat the Colgate Raiders 77-76 in overtime at Stabler Arena on Saturday afternoon. The Mountain Hawks have now swept the season series with the Raiders for the first time since 2017. Whitlock made a career-high six triples with three assists, three rebounds, and a steal. Andrew Urosevic scored 11 points with three made triples in 35 minutes off the bench. Edouard Benoit added 11 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Hank Alvey and Joshua Ingram each added eight points while Jalen Vazquez (4p) and Peter Kramer (3p) also scored for Lehigh.
Loyola currently sits in sixth place in the Patriot League standings with a league record of 4-6. The Greyhounds were defeated by first-place Navy 87-71 in their most recent game on Saturday. Sophomore Braeden Speed leads Loyola offensively with an average of 15.7 points per game. Jacob Theodosiou, who's averaging 15.1 points per game, has not played for the Greyhounds since January 14. First-year Emmett Adair also averages double-figures at 12.3 points per game.
Following Wednesday's game, the Mountain Hawks will travel north to Worcester, Massachusetts to take on Holy Cross on Saturday, February 7 at 2 p.m.
