Lehigh Shows Improvement, Ties For Fourth at El Campeon Collegiate

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – The Lehigh women's golf team bounced back from a tough opening round with rounds of 321 and 320 to conclude the El Campeon Collegiate at the Mission Inn Resort. Tuesday featured the completion of round two prior to the final round. Lehigh's round two and three scores ranked fourth lowest in the field, as the Mountain Hawks finished tied for fourth in an 11-team field at 982 (341-321-320). The Mountain Hawks finished tied with Patriot League rival Navy.
For the second straight tournament to begin the spring, senior Yuki Zhu led the way with a top 10 finish, tying for eighth place at 239 (83-80-76). Zhu's final round 76 was the low round of the tournament for the Mountain Hawks. She made one birdie and 13 pars in her final round.
A final round 77 moved sophomore Reese Hannon up to Lehigh's No. 2 position. Hannon finished at 247 (88-82-77), tying for 20th place. Hannon carded a pair of birdies in her final round.
First-year Alisia Ren tied for 23rd place at 249 (86-78-85), while sophomore Alana Hall was three strokes behind at 252 (84-81-87), tying for 30th.
Lehigh's individual player, first-year Bridget Yu, tied for 33rd place at 254 (87-84-83). Yu made one birdie in her final round.
Junior Stefania Fedun shot 260 (90-88-82) and finished in 41st place. Fedun also carded one birdie in her final round.
North Dakota State claimed the team title at 943, with the Bison defeating Longwood by four strokes. The Bison had the top two individual finishers with Norah Roberts (+11, 227) defeating teammate Madison Hicks by one stroke.
The Mountain Hawks will next head to California over spring break to play in the SoCal Invitational, hosted by Morehead State in Camarillo, Calif., March 8-10.
