Lehigh Tied For Fifth After Opening Day of El Campeon Collegiate

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Day one of the El Campeon Collegiate saw the Lehigh women's golf team shoot 341 Monday at the Mission Inn Resort. The Mountain Hawks are 25 over par in round two as play was suspended due to darkness with 2-3 holes remaining. Lehigh is currently tied with Patriot League foe Navy for fifth place in an 11-team field at 78 over par.
Senior Yuki Zhu, the reigning Patriot League Golfer of the Week, picked up where she left off as Lehigh's top performer Monday. Zhu sits in 15th place at 16 over par, shooting 83 in the opening round. She is five over through 16 holes in round two with a pair of birdies.
Sophomore Alana Hall is two strokes behind Zhu at 18 over and she is tied for 19th place. Hall shot 84 in round one with one birdie and is seven over with three birdies in her second round.
First-year Alisia Ren is tied for 25th place at 21 over par. Ren shot 86 in the morning and is seven over in round two. She has carded two birdies in each round thus far.
One stroke behind Ren is sophomore Reese Hannon, who is tied for 29th place. Hannon carded an 88 in round one and is six over par in round two. She totaled three birdies Monday.
Junior Stefania Fedun is 29 over through 34 holes, including a morning 90. Fedun has one birdie so far in her second round.
Competing as an individual, first-year Bridget Yu is tied for 34th place at +24. Yu shot 87 in round one and is nine over so far in round two.
Longwood leads the team standings at 46 over par, three strokes ahead of North Dakota State. The Bison have three of the top four players on the leaderboard, with Norah Roberts topping the table at five over par, one stroke better than teammate Madison Hicks.
The El Campeon Collegiate concludes Tuesday with the conclusion of round two followed by the final round of play.
