Mountain Hawks to Begin Fall Season at Purdue's Boilermaker Classic

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's golf team kicks off its fall campaign early next week at Purdue's Boilermaker Classic at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette, Ind. The two-day, 54-hole tournament begins with 36 holes of play Monday and then 18 holes Tuesday. Action both days begins with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
The Boilermaker Classic is the first of five fall events for the Mountain Hawks under second-year head coach John Manos. The Mountain Hawks finished fourth at last year's Patriot League Championship with Stefania Fedun and Yuki Zhu earning All-Patriot League honors. Fedun and Zhu are two of the nine players on the roster. Zhu, a three-time All-Patriot League performer is the lone senior. Fedun is now a junior joined by Bella Scanapicco and Olivia Lu. Sophomores Alana Hall and Reese Hannon played a lot for the Mountain Hawks last season, with Manos welcoming three first-years, all of who are internationals: Sienna Mosquera from Bermuda, Alisia Ren from New Zealand and Bridget Yu from Ontario, Canada.
The Kampen-Cosler Course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex plays 6,299 yards to a par 72. Participating teams include: Abilene Christian, Ball State, Georgia Southern, Indiana, Iowa, Kent State, Lehigh, Little Rock, Mississippi, North Florida, Old Dominion, Purdue, Western Kentucky and Xavier. Live scoring will be available on Scoreboard by Clippd.
The Mountain Hawks will bring a veteran squad to West Lafayette with Zhu, Fedun, Scanapicco, Hall and Hannon expected to compete.
Following the Boilermaker Classic, Lehigh will play at the Battle at the Creek, hosted by Sacred Heart, Sept. 15-16. September concludes with the Autumn Harvest, Sept. 29-30 in Lopatcong, N.J. October features the Quinnipiac Classic Oct. 13-14 and then the Mountain Hawks will close out the fall by hosting the Lehigh Invitational at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. Oct. 25-26.
