
Lehigh Athletes Compete Monday At Widener Final Qualifier

CHESTER, Pa. – In its first action since the Patriot League Championships, the Lehigh track and field teams sent a handful of athletes to Monday's Widener Final Qualifier. Twelve athletes competed in an event that was highlighted by three event wins, a pair of close calls on school records, with a new No. 2 all-time mark established.

After winning a third consecutive Patriot League outdoor title in the 800m, junior Abby Klebe ran the 1500m Monday, winning the event with a time of 4:22.81 to move into second place all-time at Lehigh.

In the 400m hurdles, junior Grace Kennedy finished second in 59.72, one-tenth of a second off her second all-time mark and 0.37 off the school record.

Senior Svea Wickelgren rank the 800m, finishing third with a time of 2:08.18.

Junior Grace Aggen delivered Lehigh's other victories, winning the shot put with a throw of 13.44m and the discus with a throw of 47.11m. First-year Emily Kolodziej finished sixth in the discus with a mark of 41.63m.

Senior Savanah Beavers finished sixth in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:55.59.

On the men's side senior Skyler Mott finished second in the high jump, clearing 1.99m. First-year Jaden Ferguson took third in the long jump with a mark of 7.08m.

In the 3000m steeplechase, senior Aidan Lynch ran a PR of 9:20.32 to finish third.

In the throws, senior Liam Lovering finished fifth in the discus (47.25m) and seventh in the hammer (52.06m).

Senior Greg Stagliano finished second in the javelin with a throw of 59.79m, while senior Liam Campiglia finished seventh (54.47m).

The Mountain Hawks will send athletes to the ECAC/IC4A Championships this weekend in Fairfax, Va., and Saturday's Princeton Elite meet in New Jersey.
