Mountain Hawks Top Lafayette 114-89 in Annual Outdoor Dual Meet

EASTON, Pa. – The Lehigh men's track and field team secured a fourth consecutive win over rival Lafayette and a fourth consecutive 6-0 season spanning cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field, with a 114-89 victory Saturday in the annual outdoor dual meet at Lafayette.

The men won 13 of 19 events and had a pair of IC4A-qualifying marks plus one all-time top 10 addition in Saturday's victorious effort.

THROWS
Both of Lehigh's IC4A qualifying marks came from throwing events. Senior Liam Lovering threw 53.15m in the hammer throw to hit the IC4A mark and improve up on his seventh all-time mark at Lehigh. Lovering also won the discus with a throw of 47.36m and took third in the shot put (15.16m).

Junior Wil Jaques won the javelin with an IC4A-qualifying mark of 64.69m. Senior Greg Stagliano finished second with a throw of 56.46m.

Junior Joe Nowakowski won the shot put with an effort of 15.30m.

First-year Samuel Maloof posted a PR in the hammer throw (46.96) to finish fourth.

JUMPS
Lehigh swept the high jump, long jump and triple jump with senior Skyler Mott, junior Daniel Givens and first-year Jaden Ferguson all claiming victories.

Mott won the high jump, clearing 2.02m, while Ferguson finished second at 1.92m. Ferguson won the long jump with a leap of 6.57m, with sophomore Andrew Clark taking second (6.50m).

Givens won the triple jump with a PR of 14.03m and took third in the long jump (6.15m).

Sophomore Eli Johnson led Lehigh in the pole vault, clearing 4.20m to finish third.

SPRINTS/HURDLES
The Mountain Hawks claimed victories in both hurdles events. Senior Jonathan Bennett won the 110h with a time of 15.05 and sophomore Nathan Oliphant finished second at 15.30. Sophomore Aidan DiBuono won the 400h with a PR of 55.37.

First-year Jaden Green won the 100m dash in 11.23 seconds and led Lehigh with a runner-up finish in the 200m (22.87).

Sophomore David Sedrak led Lehigh in the 400m, finishing third with a PR of 50.03.

MID-DISTANCE/DISTANCE
Sophomores Ryan Baker and Noah Zahn ran 1-2 in the 5000m. Baker finished first with a time of 15:24.34 while Zahn came in at 15:24.85.

Junior Adam Barbato won the 3000m steeplechase in 9:33.72, with junior Henry Burd finishing third with a time of 9:48.02.

Junior Alex Heidemann won the 800m in 1:53.21.

First-year Ian Zalewski led Lehigh in the 1500m, finishing second with a time of 4:21.70. Senior Aidan Lynch finished third 4:22.47.

RELAYS
Both Lehigh relays finished second, with the 4x100m (Green, DiBuono, Bennett, Eddie Moore)Â posting a time of 46.52 and the 4x400m (Logan Haverkamp, Heidemann, Patrez Thomas, Ethan Hood) coming in at 3:22.85.
