BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's golf team heads to Lewisburg, Pa., for the Patriot League Championship, beginning Friday at the Bucknell Golf Club. The three-day, 54-hole tournament features 18 holes of golf, Friday, Saturday and Sunday with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. all three days.
The Mountain Hawks have won four Patriot League championships, most recently in 2023 in Phoenix, Md. Lehigh also won the Patriot League in 1996, 1997 and 2013. Last year, Lehigh hosted the event at Saucon Valley Country Club and finished fourth. The eight-team field includes Army West Point, Bucknell, Colgate, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Lehigh, Loyola and Navy. Loyola is the defending team champion.
The Bucknell Golf Club plays 5,926 yards to a par 70. The Bison are hosting the men's championship for the first time since 2017.
Lehigh's lineup features one All-Patriot League performer in senior Aidan Oehrle, who finished in third place and earned first team honors in 2023.
Last time out, Lehigh tied Lafayette 10-10 in the annual Presidents Cup matches at Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, N.J. The Mountain Hawks trailed heading into singles play, but captured 5.5 points from the 10 matches to level the final score, allowing Lehigh to retain the cup for the fifth consecutive year.
In its last tournament action, Lehigh finished fourth out of 10 teams at Columbia's Roar-EE Invitational, Apr. 19 in Kingston, N.Y. Junior Aiden LeBlanc tied for third place to lead Lehigh's six-player contingent. LeBlanc or classmate Jake Roth have led the Mountain Hawks in all eight tournaments during the 2024-25 season, with LeBlanc also leading the way at The Doc Gimmler, the Lehigh Invitational and the UC San Diego Invitational, while Roth was the low Mountain Hawk at the Alex Lagowitz Memorial, the Temple Invitational, the Redhawk Intercollegiate and the Irish Creek Collegiate.
Both LeBlanc and Roth will make their second Patriot League Championship appearance. LeBlanc tied for 24th place last year, while Roth was a par of Lehigh's 2023 championship team.
The rest of Lehigh's entry for the Patriot League championship includes Oehrle, junior Will Caronchi, first-year Noah Zyung and senior Jahan Bains. Caronchi and Bains also played in last year's championship tying for 24th and 42nd, respectively.
The top six individual finishers will earn first team All-Patriot League honors including ties. Individuals finishing seventh to 12th place will earn second team All-Patriot League honors. The team champion will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Golf Regionals along with the individual medalist if he is not on the championship team.
Live scoring will be available on LeaderboardKing.
On Friday, Lehigh will play with Bucknell and Lafayette, with tee times beginning at 9 a.m.
