Lehigh Snaps Three-Match Skid In 5-2 Win Over Saint Francis

EBENSBURG, Pa. – After an 11-day hiatus, Lehigh men's tennis returned to action on Sunday afternoon on the road against Saint Francis University. The Mountain Hawks snapped a three-game skid, winning by a score of 5-2 over the Red Flash.
Saint Francis (5-9) struck first in doubles play, earning a 7-5 win at number three. Lehigh (6-6) responded with a narrow 7-6 (7-2) win for Marc Blekhman and Sean Jaeger at number one to tie it up. Jose Murariu and Luke Donovan prevailed in a tiebreaker at number two to clinch the doubles point for the Mountain Hawks.
The Red Flash got on the board first in singles play, as Tyler Nguyen picked up a two-set win at number one over Murariu. The Mountain Hawks then scored back-to-back wins from Blekhman at number two and Morash at number three to take a 3-1 lead in the match. After winning the first set, Wyeth Anzilotti dropped his match at number five in three sets to set the score at 3-2. A 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 victory for Ofer Hacohen at number four clinched the dual meet victory for Lehigh. Nate Raney was also victorious at number six, winning in three sets.
The Mountain Hawks return to action on Wednesday, March 26 to take on Villanova University at 3 p.m. at the Ulrich Varsity Tennis Courts.
