Mountain Hawks Wrap up Final Day of Patriots

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Lehigh women's swimming and diving wrapped up the fourth and final day of the Patriot League Championships Saturday evening at the Kinney Natatorium. Senior Willa Werwaiss had the Mountain Hawks' top finish of the day, just ten hundredths of a second away from a podium spot. Werwaiss finished fourth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:59.33.

First-year Claire Coughlin earned 11 points with a 16th-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke, while senior Monica Wintermute added points with a 23rd-place finish in 2:05.01.

Senior Natalie Martin secured Lehigh's second-best finish of the day, placing fifth in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:00.44, contributing 25 points to the team total. First-year Clara Moschella also scored for Lehigh in the event, finishing 13th with a time of 2:06.73, earning 14 points.

The Mountain Hawks collected 59 points in the 1,650-yard freestyle. Senior Maggie Mikalic posted a personal-best time of 17:03.73 to take sixth place. Mairin Ludwig finished seventh, clocking in at 17:04.38, while senior Natalie Martin recorded a season-best time of 17:16.37 to secure 15th place.

Caitlin Deitch continued to shine as one of Lehigh's top scorers at the meet, finishing 10th overall and second in the B-Final of the 100-yard freestyle. She posted a season-best time of 51.02, earning 17 points for the Mountain Hawks.

In the 200-yard breaststroke, Lehigh had two representatives. Senior Caitlin Hofmann finished 11th with a time of 2:21.65, scoring 16 points. Sophomore Eliza Meth contributed 12 points with a 16th-place finish in 2:23.78.

The 400-yard freestyle relay wrapped up the meet, with the team of Deitch, Ludwig, Moschella, and Werwaiss swimming to a fifth-place finish in 3:24.19.

Lehigh finished the meet in sixth place with 701 points. Boston University placed fifth with 727 points, while Navy claimed the top spot with 1,514.5 points.
