Whitlock Named Patriot League Player Of The Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Junior captain Nasir Whitlock was named the Patriot League Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. The award is the first Player of the Week nod of Whitlock's career.
Whitlock had an outstanding week for the Mountain Hawks, averaging 23.0 points on 50% from the field, 44.4% from three, and 85% from the free throw line. The Brooklyn Park, Minnesota native put up 17 points and eight rebounds at Marist (11/25), scored 21 points with three assists and three triples against UC Santa Barbara (11/28) and posted a career-high 31 points with five made threes in Lehigh's 78-74 overtime win over Texas State (11/29). Whitlock hit a pull-up mid-range jumper as time expired against Texas State that forced overtime.
On the season, Whitlock is averaging a career best 17.9 points per game, which currently leads both Lehigh and the Patriot League. Whitlock has scored in double-figures in eight of Lehigh's nine games.
The Mountain Hawks return to the court on Tuesday, December 2 at 6 p.m. on the road against Binghamton University.
