
Mountain Hawks Compete At The Patriot League Championships In Lewisburg

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh track and field teams compete in the Patriot League Championships this weekend at Bucknell in Lewisburg, Pa.

On Friday, track events run from 9 a.m., starting with the women's 10,000m and wrapping up at 5:10 with the men's 4x800m final. Friday throws feature the hammer throws and javelin throws, beginning with the men's hammer at 11 a.m. and concluding with the women's javelin at 5 p.m. The pole vault and long jump are the lone jumping events from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Saturday's action on the track begins at 1:10 p.m. with the women's 3,000m steeplechase and wraps up with the men's 4x400 final at 5:30 p.m. Discus and shot put round out the throws on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. High jump and triple jump are the Saturday jumping events running from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The decathlon runs on Friday from 11 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., continuing on Saturday between 8:45 a.m. and 4:20 p.m. The heptathlon kicks off on Friday from 10:45 a.m. to 3:40 p.m., beginning again on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and wrapping up at 1 p.m.Â

In 2023, the women's team finished fifth behind first-place performances in the pole vault, 4x800m and the 800m. Laura Reigle won the pole vault (4.04m), Abby Klebe was the champion in the 800m (2:08.26), and the winning 4x800m relay group consisted of Klebe, Simone Davey, Svea Wickelgren and Lauryn Heskin.

The men's team rounded out the 2023 championships in fourth place, led by gold medal performances from Ian Scott and Kevin Harvey. In the triple jump, Scott broke the school record and earned the win with a jump of 15.38m. Harvey earned a gold medal in the 5,000m with a time of 14:22.27
