Lehigh Earns Two Champions At The ECAC/IC4A Championships

FAIRFAX, Va. - Lehigh track and field athletes won both the women's pole vault and women's 3000m, as the squad competed at the ECAC/IC4A Championships this weekend at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. The women's team finished fourth overall.

The top eight finishers in each event group earned All-East honors, with the Mountain Hawks recording fifteen honorees.

MID-DISTANCE/DISTANCE:
Christina Yakaboski won the 3000m on Friday, securing a second all-time mark of 9:43.30 and the title.
Â
Lehigh had two All-East members in the 1500m, led by Abby Klebe in second (4:30.92). Lindsay MacLellan recorded an eighth place time of 4:36.96.

In the steeplechase, Savanah Beavers crossed the finish line in 10:54.33, good for fourth place. On the men's side, Adam Barbato took eighth place with 9:16.21.

Kevin Harvey recorded a sixth place finish in the 5000m, clocking in at 14:28.52.
The women's 4x800m relay consisting of MacLellan, Yakaboski, Simone Davey and Klebe took third with a time of 9:00.54.

SPRINTS/HURDLES
Ashley Struck took fifth place in the 400m with a time of 54.64. In the men's 400m hurdles, Patrez Thomas took fourth place with a mark of 52.54.

Two Mountain Hawks earned PRs in the 110h, with Nate Oliphant finishing in ninth place with a ninth all-time mark of 14.60, while Dan Stipanov followed behind in 12th with a tenth all-time mark of 14.62.

JUMPS:
After winning the women's pole vault at the Patriot League Championships last weekend, Laura Reigle set a new school record and PR with a winning mark of 4.06m. Reigle holds both indoor (4.10m) and outdoor pole vault records at Lehigh.

In the women's high jump, Izabel Fronc took fifth with a mark of 1.62m, while Kerry Perna finished in eighth place with 1.57m.
Casey Talamini-Kelemen placed third in the triple jump, recording a jump of 12.15m.

THROWS:
Greg Stagliano was Lehigh's top-finisher in the javelin, taking seventh (58.46m), while Hunter Rodarmel followed behind in eighth with 57.75m.
Liam Lovering competed in the discus throw, earning second with a 50.58m mark.Â

Next up, select athletes head to the NCAA East Regional from May 22-25 in Lexington, Kentucky.
