Lehigh Sets Sights On PLC After Wrapping Up Navy Spring Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – In its final tournament before the Patriot League Championship, the Lehigh women's golf team finished seventh out of 11 teams at the Navy Spring Invitational, which wrapped up Sunday at the Naval Academy Golf Club. The Mountain Hawks shaved 14 strokes off of Saturday's opening round 327, shooting 313 on Sunday to finish at 640.

Sophomore Yuki Zhu was the low Mountain Hawk, finishing in 13th place at 157 (78-79). Zhu made one birdie in her final round 79.

One stroke behind Zhu was junior Madison Pineda, who delivered the low round of the weekend for Lehigh with a final-round 75 and tied for 14th place at 158 (83-75). Pineda birdied her first and last holes on the day.

First-year Olivia Lu tied for 25th place at 161 (81-80).

While Pineda improved by eight strokes on Sunday, senior Venecia Zaia improved by six. Zaia shot 79 with one birdie and finished in 36th place at 164 (85-79).

First-year Stefania Fedun also had a six stroke improvement and matched Pineda with two final round birdies. Fedun shot 81 Sunday to tie for 42nd place at 168 (87-81).

Competing as an individual, first-year Bella Scanapicco tied for 51st place at 174 (88-86). Scanapicco made one final round birdie.

Junior Sophie Chang finished in 67th place at 187 (94-93).

Penn captured the team title at 612 (310-302), with the Quakers defeating Quinnipiac by eight strokes.

The individual medalist was Navy's Sue Lee at three over par 147 (77-70).

The three-day, 54-hole Patriot League Championship runs Apr. 19-21 at the Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pa.
