BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's golf team returns to Lewisburg, Pa. for the Patriot League Championship, with Bucknell hosting the three-day, 54-hole championship Friday-Sunday at the Bucknell Golf Club.

Richmond is the defending champion after winning last year's title on its home course. The rest of the six-team field includes Boston University, Bucknell, Holy Cross, Lehigh and Navy. Lehigh last won the Patriot League in 2013, the inaugural year of the championship.

The top five individual finishers will earn first team All-Patriot League honors including ties. Individuals finishing sixth to 10th place will earn second team All-Patriot League honors. The team champion will earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Golf Regionals.

Lehigh's championship entry includes a pair of All-Patriot League performers and four players who will compete in their first Patriot League Championship.

Junior Madison Pineda is a two-time all-league honoree and was the league's Rookie of the Year in 2022. She earned first-team honors as a first-year and made the second team after a seventh-place finish last year.

Sophomore Yuki Zhu was Lehigh's top finisher last year, earning first-team honors after tying for fifth place.

Lehigh's first-time Patriot League Championship entrants include senior Venecia Zaia, who played in the Big South the last three years for UNC Asheville, and first-years Stefania Fedun, Olivia Lu and Bella Scanapicco.

Last time out, Lehigh finished seventh out of 11 teams at the Navy Spring Invitational last weekend in Annapolis, Md. Zhu led the way, finishing in 13th place while Pineda tied for 14th, one stroke behind.

The Patriot League Championship marks a return to the Bucknell Golf Club, where Lehigh opened its 2023-24 campaign in September. The Mountain Hawks finished fourth out of 11 teams at the Bucknell Invitational with Zaia finishing in seventh place and Zhu tying for eighth. Zhu shot a final round 69, the second-lowest competitive round in program history.

The Bucknell Golf Club plays to a par 70 at 5,926 yards. Tee times begin at 8:30 all three days. Lehigh will play with Richmond and Boston University on Friday. Live scoring will be available on GolfStat.com.
