Mountain Hawks Sixth After Day One Of Navy Spring Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Lehigh women's golf team opened the Navy Spring Invitational with an opening round 327 Saturday at the Naval Academy Golf Club. Sophomore Yuki Zhu led the way with a 78 as Lehigh sits in sixth place in the 11-team field.

Zhu carded three birdies to offset nine bogeys in Saturday's opening round. She is tied for eighth place.

First-year Olivia Lu delivered the second-lowest score of the day for Lehigh with a round of 81. Lu made two birdies and is tied for 15th place.

Junior Madison Pineda shot 83 and is tied for 26th place, while senior Venecia Zaia is tied for 34th after an 85.

First-year Stefania Fedun returned to action with an 87 and is tied for 39th.

Lehigh has two players competing as individuals. First-year Bella Scanapicco shot 88 and is tied for 42nd place, while junior Sophie Chang is tied for 63rd place after a 94.

Penn posted a team total of 310 to take the team lead, eight strokes better than second place Navy.

The Quakers' Madeleine Zhang is the individual leader after a round of two over par 74. Zhang leads Navy's Hallie Brisco by one stroke.

The Navy Spring Invitational concludes Sunday with the final 18 holes of play. A shotgun start is set for 9 a.m.
