
Lehigh Looks To Defend Title At Lafayette's ABARTA Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In the final tournament before the Patriot League Championship, the Lehigh men's golf team will make the short trip to Easton for Lafayette's ABARTA Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational, set for Sunday and Monday at Northampton Country Club. The Mountain Hawks will be looking to defend their team title from last season.
The tournament will be played on the par 72, 6,675-yard course at Northampton Country Club. The event features 36 holes of play with 18 Sunday and 18 Monday.
Last year, Lehigh topped an 18-team field with a final total of 570 (279-291). Aidan Oehrle was the low Mountain Hawk, tying for second place. David Hurly, Sam Barton and Edmund Broderick also contributed to Lehigh's team title, while Aiden LeBlanc and Jake Roth competed as individuals.
The Mountain Hawks are coming off an 11th-place finish at the Irish Creek Collegiate in North Carolina earlier this week. Barton led the way with a tie for 32nd place and picked up Patriot League honorable mention recognition earlier this week.
Hurly, Broderick, LeBlanc, junior Jahan Bains and sophomore Will Caronchi will be Lehigh's scoring team in the tournament. Barton, Roth and first-year Matthew Quinn will compete as individuals.
Following the ABARTA Coca-Cola Collegiate Invitational, Lehigh will face Lafayette in the annual Presidents' Cup matches, April 18 at Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, N.J. Lehigh will then host the Patriot League Championship April 26-28 on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club.
