Mountain Hawks Round Out Weekend Competition On Saturday

RALEIGH, N.C./WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. - The Lehigh men's track and field team continued its outdoor season, competing at the Raleigh Relays and Monmouth Open this weekend.
 
Women's and men's distance competed at the Raleigh Relays while all other event groups plus a handful of mid-distance/distance runners competed at the Monmouth Open.
 
SPRINTS/HURDLES
At the Monmouth Open, first-year Logan Haverkamp claimed a PR in the 400m, crossing the finish in 52.61. The Mountain Hawks had two athletes pick up personal bests in the 110m hurdles, led by Nathan Oliphant's second place finish of 15.09. First-year Andrew Clark continued his strong rookie campaign, PRing with 16.96.
 
Junior Patrez Thomas won the 400m hurdles, clocking in at 54.47.
 
THROWS
Sophomore Joseph Nowakowski took fifth in the shot put with a PR of 15.44m. In the hammer throw, junior Sam Maloof earned a PR with a 39.46m throw.
 
JUMPS
Graduate Student Ian Scott took second place in the triple jump with a distance of 14.20.
 
MID-DISTANCE/DISTANCE
After claiming a PR in the 1500m at the Penn Open last weekend, sophomore Alex Heidemann picked up another improved time of 3:51.53 at the Raleigh Relays.
 
At the Monmouth Open, first-year Derek Coceano logged a PR of 4:12.96. Following suit behind Henry Burd's second place time (9:45.61), sophomore Max Leffler took fourth in the steeple with 9:47.15.
 
Lehigh heads to Easton next Saturday for The Rivalry dual meet matchup at Lafayette.
