Mott’s Meet Record Tops Off Successful Big Apple Invitational

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The Lehigh men's track and field team earned nine PRs and junior Skyler Mott secured the meet record in the high jump as the Mountain Hawks competed at the Big Apple Invitational Saturday at the Ocean Breeze Complex. 
 
JUMPS:
Mott earned the meet record in the high jump with a 2.03m jump, short of his PR and third all-time mark of 2.10m which he set in the Lafayette dual meet two weeks ago. First-year multi Andrew Clark produced a PR in the long jump with a distance of 6.36m.
 
MID-DISTANCE/DISTANCE:
With three PRs on the women's side in the 3K, the men continued producing with two PRs. First-year Noah Zahn (8:37.88) and sophomore Max Leffler (8:49.87) logged personal bests in the 3K. Sophomore Alex Heidemann earned the lone 800m PR, crossing the finish in 1:53.94
 
THROWS:
Junior Liam Lovering and senior Achillies Mouzakis competed in the weight throw at prestigious Millrose Games on Friday, finishing with marks of 16.70m and 15.53, respectively. At the Big Apple Invitational, sophomore Joe Nowakowski improved his PR in the shot put with 15.22m.
 
SPRINTS/HURDLES:
In the 400m, junior Patrez Thomas moved to eighth all-time (49.81) and first-year Gabriel Mays-Sanchez captured a PR with 52.76. Fellow first-year Perry Addey logged a PR in the 200m with a time of 22.87. Junior Ethan Hood rounded out PRs in the event group with a 1:06.56 finish in the 500m.
 
The Mountain Hawks head to the Bucknell Tune-Up on Friday to prepare for the Patriot League Championships on Feb. 24-25.
