BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's soccer team closed out its home slate for the regular season with a 2-0 loss to American on Sunday afternoon.

American scored its first goal in the ninth minute, taking an early 1-0 lead over Lehigh.

At the end of the first half, American's Brooke Steel capitalized on a one-on-one opportunity with Lehigh goalkeeper Magiie Ousouljoglou. Steel placed the ball over the backpedaling Ousouljoglou, stretching American's lead to 2-0 heading into the second half.

In the second half, American outshot Lehigh 5-4 while Lehigh recorded the only corner of the half.

American outshot Lehigh 15-6 while holding a slim 5-4 lead in corners. Hope Flanegin and Aminah Baruwa led the Mountain Hawks with two shots apiece.

Ousoujoglou made five saves while American's Addison Roemer recorded two.

Lehigh (2-8-5, 1-5-1 PL) travels to Loyola on Saturday for a 2 p.m. matchup.
