Lehigh To Play In Lafayette's ABARTA Collegiate Invitational Beginning Sunday

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – It will be a short trip for the Lehigh men's golf team in its final tournament of the regular season. The Mountain Hawks will head to Easton for Lafayette's ABARTA Coca-Cola Invitational, set for Sunday and Monday at Northampton Country Club.
 
The tournament will be played on the par 72, 6,675-yard course at Northampton Country Club. The event features 36 holes of play with 18 Sunday and 18 Monday. Sunday's opening round will feature an afternoon shotgun start. Monday's final round will go off the first and 10th tees at 9 a.m.
 
Participating teams include Binghamton, Canisius, Colgate, Fairfield, Fordham, Iona, Lafayette, La Salle, Lehigh, Monmouth, Mount St. Mary's, Niagara, Rider, St. Bonaventure, Saint Joseph's and Wagner.
 
The Mountain Hawks are coming off a strong showing at Villanova's Wildcat Invitational. Lehigh finished third out of 15 teams, led by senior David Hurly, who tied for second place and first-year Aidan Oehrle, who tied for fourth. First-year Will Caronchi and junior Edmund Broderick also posted top-20 individual finishes.
 
Last year, Lehigh finished 11th out of 19 teams when the event was played at the Steel Club in Hellertown. Hurly led the way, tying for fifth place.
 
Following the ABARTA Coca-Cola Invitational, Lehigh will shift focus to the Patriot League Championship, hosted by Loyola, April 28-30 at Hillendale Country Club in Phoenix, Md.
