
Mountain Hawks Fall to FDU, 5-2

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Mountain Hawks were unable to hold on to the momentum from last weekend's wins, falling 5-2 to Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday night inside the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center.Â
Lehigh opened up the match with a win at the No. 1 doubles spot by senior Jeremy Learner and junior Jordan Paul. The duo defeated FDU's Thomas Linley and Justas Trainauskas 6-4. The Mountain Hawks were unable to clinch the doubles point following Learner and Paul's win and trailed 1-0 going into singles play.Â
The Knights continued to assert their dominance during singles, picking up wins in the first three spots. Marc Blekhman continued to have an impressive start to his sophomore season, picking up his third singles win of the season at the No. 4 spot. Blekhman defeated FDU's Gryffin Minor 6-0, 6-2 to get Lehigh on the board.Â
First-year Jackson Morash earned his first win as a Mountain Hawk on Wednesday night. Morash defeated Linley 6-2 in two sets at the No. 5 spot.Â
Lehigh will take time to rest and prepare for two more matches this weekend. On Saturday, the Mountain Hawks will host Drexel at 10 a.m. inside the Lewis Indoor Tennis Center. Lehigh will close out the weekend with a match against Howard at 10 a.m. on Sunday.Â
