
Track and Field Continues Season with Fast Times Before Finals

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - In the second meet of the indoor season, the Mountain Hawks host Delaware State, Delaware Valley, East Stroudsburg, Monmouth, Moravian, Muhlenberg, Stockton and Temple in Fast Times Before Finals this weekend.Â

Last weekend in the Mountain Hawk Season Opener, first-year Avery Dowkus shined in her first collegiate meet, winning both the shot put (12.41) and weight throw (14.08). Senior Nina Cialone won the triple jump with a distance of 11.0m, while junior Lauren Roy took second and earned a PR with a 10.73m jump. The Mountain Hawks swept the 800, led by junior Riley Morrell with a PR of 2:21.65. Sophomore Grace Kennedy claimed first place in the 400 with 58.81.

On the men's side, senior Daniel Stipanov climbed to fifth all-time in the 60m hurdles with a 8.24 finish. In the jumps, junior Gideon Coprivnicar earned his first collegiate win in the pole vault with 4.40m, while junior Skyler Mott won high jump with 2.02m and earned second in the triple jump with 13.59m. In the 400m and 200m, junior Patrez Thomas claimed first with 50.76 and 22.86, respectively.

The unscored meet opens at 3 p.m. on Friday with the women's multi 60m hurdles, followed by all other multi events. At 5 p.m. the weight throw and women's pole vault will round out day one.

On Saturday, the multi event of the high hurdles, pole vault and 1000m begin at 9 a.m. The field events open at 10 a.m. with long jump and shot put, while triple jump follows the conclusion of men's long jump. High jump begins at 11 a.m. along with men's pole vault to mark the final field events of the weekend.

Action on the track kicks off at noon with the 60m hurdles, followed by the 60m dash. The 500m dash begins at 1:40 p.m. with the 1000m run at 2:25 p.m.Â

After a short intermission, the relays cap off the competition with the 4x800 starting at 3:40. The 4x400 wraps up the competition at 4:20.Â
