Women's Cross Country Prepares For NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After competing on their home course at the Lehigh Invitational and Paul Short Run this year, Lehigh women's cross country will get one final chance to run on the Goodman Campus cross country course on Friday at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional. Lehigh is set to host a regional meet on their home turf for the second time this decade.
In their last time out, Lehigh ran at the Patriot League Championship in Hamilton, N.Y. at Colgate University. The Mountain Hawks finished in fifth place out of the ten competing teams, scoring 127 points in the process.
The top finisher for Lehigh was senior Christina Yakaboski, who finished 18th with a time of 22:57.9. Several other runners finished in the top 30 for the Mountain Hawks, including senior Lindsay MacLellan (21st, 23:10.3), junior Savanah Beavers (24th, 23:19.1), and junior Maddison Hayes (27th, 23:22.0).
Other finishers in the race for the Mountain Hawks included Lucy Afansewicz (42nd, 23:44.5), Elisa Brear (49th, 24:03.1), Grace Kolbe (52nd, 24:11.4), Athiel Mading (62nd, 24:33.6), Abigail Tenreiro (65th, 24:38.7), Andrine Larsen (70th, 24:53.2), Siri Hellenbrand (78th, 25:25.4), and Aurora Wilson (84th, 25:43.5).
Lehigh's next competition would be at the NCAA National Championship in Charlottesville, Virginia on November 19 should the team or any individual runners qualify.
