Â
Cimino went 4-for-9 over the two games Saturday with a double and a triple to her credit. Senior Jaelynn Chesson added four hits, including her 21st career home run.
Â
Fairfield (1-2) went in front 4-0 after three and a half innings in Saturday's first game. Madison Robicheau opened the scoring with a leadoff home run in the third inning and the Stags added three more runs in the fourth on an error and Kasey Sekula two-run single.
Â
Lehigh pulled within 4-3 after five innings as Chesson launched a three-run home run out to center field, but the Stags pulled a run back in the sixth on another Sekula RBI single.
Â
Down 5-3 heading to the seventh, senior Karsen O'Rourke started the comeback with a leadoff double. Two batters later, she moved to third on a Chesson single. Sophomore Brooke Cannon brought Lehigh within 5-4 with a double to right center and then Amanda Greaney followed with a sacrifice fly to right, plating Chesson with the tying run.
Â
With the international tiebreaker rules in play, Fairfield reclaimed the lead in the eighth on a two-run home run by Robicheau, her second of the day. In the bottom of the eighth, first-year Rory Dudley led off with an RBI double and eventually scored the tying run on a single by senior Carley Barjaktarovich.
Â
Neither team was able to score in the ninth or 10th. An Allie Bridgman sacrifice fly put Fairfield up 8-7 in the 11th. With one out in the bottom of the 11th, Barjaktarovich reached on a fielder's choice and O'Rourke followed with a single to load the bases for Cimino, who drilled an 0-1 pitch to center for the game-winning double.
Â
O'Rourke and Chesson each had three hits against the Stags to pace the Lehigh offense.
Â
Four pitchers saw time in the circle against Fairfield. First-year Maria Urban went the first three-plus innings and 3.1 total. Senior Gabriella Nori threw the final three, allowing an unearned run with two strikeouts to earn her first victory of the season.
Â
Lehigh out-hit Mount St. Mary's 5-3 in game two Saturday, including a 3-for-3 effort from Cimino, but the Mountain Hawks were unable to scratch a run across against Avery Neuhart.
Â
The Mountain Hawks' best chance to score came in the top of the sixth, when they loaded the bases with one out, but the threat was squashed after a fielder's choice and a ground out.
Â
Mount St. Mary's (2-1) scratched out the only run of the game with two outs in the sixth as Abigayle Perry singled and then scored on a double by Bridgette Gilliano.
Â
Lehigh put two on with one out in the seventh, but Neuhart worked out of trouble with a fielder's choice and a fly out.
Â
Nori took the loss, allowing just the one run on three hits. She struck out eight and did not walk a batter.
Â
The Mountain Hawks will close out the Wolfpack Classic on Sunday when they face Fairfield at 10 a.m.
