Lehigh Prepped and Ready for the Patriot League Championships

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's cross country team will return to Lewisburg, Pa. for one of the biggest meets of the season: the Patriot League Championships. The 8k race is set to begin at 11 a.m. following the women's 6k race at 10 a.m.
The Mountain Hawks are coming off of a solid performance at the Bucknell Tune Up last weekend. Senior Jacob Martinez won the 4k with a time of 12:26.70.
Joining Martinez in the top ten were seniors Thomas Leitner and Kerem Ayhan, who finished sixth and seventh overall in the 4k. Leitner, who finished second for Lehigh, ran a 12:48.60 while Ayhan ran a 12:50.40.
Seniors Brandtson Duffie and Joseph Cranley were the final Mountain Hawks to earn a spot in the top ten. Duffie finished ninth with a time of 12:57.30 while Cranley finished tenth with a time of 13:10.60.
Last year, Lehigh hosted the Patriot League Championship on the Goodman Campus Cross Country Course, finishing fifth overall.
Seth Slavin and Bradford DeMassa were the top two Lehigh finishers at last year's championship, finishing 20th and 23rd respectively. Senior Connor Melko finished third for the Mountain Hawks last year, recording a 30th place finish with a time of 26:00.8
Lehigh has won one Patriot League Championship in men's cross country, 10 years ago in 2012.
