BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Looking to recapture the success from last Sunday's 3-2 win over Longwood, the Lehigh field hockey team returns home this Sunday to host Bryant. Gametime is set for 11 a.m. on ESPN+. The Mountain Hawks opened the season with a 1-1 record, dropping a tight 4-3 final at Villanova in a game that went down to the wire, before responding with a home-opening victory vs. the Lancers.

Lehigh scored six goals last weekend, the most goals for the program after two games since 1983. It's also the first time LUFH has scored 3+ goals in each of the first two contests since that same season. Five of the goals came off penalty corners and the sixth via a penalty stroke.

The Mountain Hawks began the season with two goals in the first quarter then after Villanova took a 3-2 lead, senior Leah Mullery evened the score in the fourth before the Wildcats scored the game-winner late.

On Sunday, graduate student Lenke Havas tallied her first-career hat trick (and Lehigh's first since 2016 when Gabby Tofig scored three times at Brown). Havas gave the Mountain Hawks an early 1-0 lead then not long after Longwood tied the score early in the third quarter, Havas responded with two more goals. That helped her earn Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Bryant is 0-2 heading into this weekend, falling at Providence (4-0) and UMass-Lowell (5-0). The Bulldogs play at La Salle on Friday. Marijn Jaarsma has been strong in goal so far, making 25 saves for a 73.5 save percentage and 4.50 goals against average. Bryant finished last spring 1-7 with its victory coming over Merrimack (4-3).

Lehigh is 1-2 all-time against Bryant. The Mountain Hawks won the first-ever meeting at home in 2008 by a 4-1 final with Bryant winning in 2009 (3-1) and 2019 (2-1).

Following Sunday's game, Lehigh returns to action next Friday when it travels to La Salle on Friday, Sept. 10 at 3 p.m. The Mountain Hawks are next home on Sunday, Sept. 12 vs. Georgetown.
