BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's and women's swimming and diving teams take on Lafayette in The Rivalry presented by Lehigh Valley Health Network and Coordinated Health at Jacobs Pool on Friday at 5 p.m.
The Mountain Hawk men and women are looking to make an historic sweep of the Leopards going for their respective 30th and 14th consecutive victories in the matchups.
The women are on a hot start to the season, looking to go 4-0 for the second time in three seasons while the men are hoping to pick up their second win of the year against the Leopards, starting the year 1-2 with a victory over West Chester in the home opener.
On the women's side, Sarah Hardy accounted for three of Lehigh's 16 first place finishes against Rider. Danielle Prekop and Ann Foley added two first place finishes against the Broncs.
On the boards, freshman Sarah Gill picked up wins in the one-meter and three-meter dives. She scored a 260.63 in the one-meter dive against West Chester, just five points off the cut to qualify for NCAA Zone Diving Championships.
The men are looking for redemption after their loss to the Broncs, despite accumulating seven first place finishes with Glenn Lasco leading the way with a pair. Owen Thomas, Connor Drucis, and Connor Goodyear added one first place finish each.
Senior Addison Cochran is eager to get back to the diving board for the Mountain Hawks after missing the last two meets against West Chester and Rider. He tallied two second-place finishes in the season opener at Loyola Maryland.
Both the men and women lead the all-time series against Lafayette going into Friday's meet, the men leading 78-14 and the women with a 35-13 edge.
